There are three different types of metatypes of eruptions:
Magmatic eruptions: ~ well observed
~ involve the decompression of gas within magma that propels it forward
Pheatomagmatic: ~ driven by the decompression of gas within magma, the direct opposite of the process
powering magmatic activity
Phreatic: ~ driven by the superheating of steam via contact with magma
There are also subtypes of eruptions:
Hawian: ~lava flows from the vent in a relitivly gentle, low level eruption
Submarine: ~ lava erupts over an ocean or sea
Strombolian:~ relitively low leved
~ ejects cinder lapilli and lava bombs at alltitudes of tens to hundreds of meters
Vulcanian: ~ dense cloud of ash
~ "like cannon fire"
Surtseyan: ~ takes place in shallow seas or lakes
~violent
~ caused by risiing basaltic or andesitic magma coming into contact with aboundant shallow
groundwater

One of the most largest earthquake happened in Chile in February 27, 2010. It was an 8.8, the sixth largest earthquake ever recorded. It even triggered a tsunami and blackout and troops were sent to the most effected areas.The epicenter was 3kilometers off the coast of Pellhue comunne in the Maule region according to USGS. The earthquake took place along the boundary between the Nazca and South American tectonic plates where they converged at a rate of 80 millimeters. the segment of the fault zone was estimated to be over700 kilometers. Seismologists estimate that the earthquake was so powerful that it shortened the length of the day by 1.26 microseconds!
